First, I will discard all of the lame “he’s got heart” type crap about Stafford.  It doesn’t particularly matter,

Stafford has done a great job finally upping his completion percentage in 2008.  While he didn’t have the year many scouts  predicted, this rise in completion percentage guaranteed he’d be the top Quarterback selected.

YEAR CMP ATT YDS CMP% YPA LNG TD INT SACK RAT

Stafford is a great field general, that shows no hesitation audibling out of a play.  He commands the huddle like you’d want from a franchise QB.  Personality, and perseverance seem to be there.

Stafford’s could be taller, but 6’2″ is fine and dandy.  He carries his 230lbs pretty well, and is slowly shedding the mass amount of pudge & baby fat he came out of highschool with.

He’s not the fastest guy, but like Bradford, he can get out of the pocket and make the throws.

Stafford deals with pressure well and limits his hopping and patting. Does get a bit of happy  feet, but other than that he’s good.

Stafford’s got a great release point and throws a real purty ball, thats normally right on the spot.  He’s not as accurate as Bradford, but he’s close.

Stafford’s big plus is his arm strength — he can huck it.  Even if he’s throwing from an awkward position, and isn’t using his body and legs to throw, he can still huck it.

That’s also his biggest problem — He’s got a lot of Jay Cutler, complete with the baby fat, in him. If Stafford goes to a team with a go to receiver, he’ll be able to use his arm strength to throw into double coverage.

Stafford does make some real bonehead plays though, in a Brett Favre sort of style.  They’ll come out of nowhere and kill a drive, or a game.  Georgia’s down year hurt Stafford a lot considering they were number 1 going into the season.

If Stafford goes to Detroit as expected, he’s definitely worth a look in keeper leagues.  Jon Kitna put up solid fantasy numbers in Detroit, and Stafford can do the same.  They love big armed QBs, and Stafford fits the mold moreso than Bradford.
