Courtesy of Michael Geist via twitter comes a very short read from Peter Nowak, entitled The Farce That Is Net Neutrality.
With regards to the article, I’m slightly torn. I know that congestion can be a huge problem and it’s generally the best scapegoat for just about any action. If companies such as Rogers are genuinely facing congestion problems despite massive upgrades to their infrastructure (doublin’ every 2 years) then colour me surprised. But on the off-chance there are too many tennis balls in the pipes, limiting connection heavy processes like BitTorrent seem to be the easiest way to clear up the pipes.
Anyways, I’m an internet hippy and believe that you should be able to do whatever the hell you want with the service you’ve purchased. If you feel like sending pings to every host on the internet to waste your bandwidth, whatever floats your boat.
Limiting World of Warcraft — God, i hated when my first year roommate played that — is just evil, though. Yes, these kids love the game and play it all fucking night, but there’s no reason they should experience slow gameplay if they’ve purchased a service.
Stupid Rogers.

I used to be a tadpole until I read Kafka. Fucking Kafka.
