I used to be a tadpole until I read Kafka. Fucking Kafka.God, I love baseball.
Yes, the teams are very boring. Although St. Louis has a huge following in the midwest. The midwest is baseball country. It may have even surpassed the North East in terms of loving their hometown heroes. But Texas, that’s football country. The Rangers were bankrupt a couple years ago, and now they’re in the World Series.
I’m sure FOX’s ratings are in the tank, but golly has there been some great baseball. Neither team really has a true ace. Carpenter used to be one, and C.J. Wilson is doing his best impression, but there’s no Verlander or Felix Hernandez. With that said, the quality of baseball has been absolutely astounding. I cannot remember the last time that the World Series was so well played. Defensively, Elvis Andrus has been utterly amazing. With Beltre, Andrus, and Kinsler, the Rangers have been a joy to watch.
The Cardinals have… Albert Pujols and motherfucking superman, Allen Craig.
So, I’ll be off to Paupers shortly to watch yet another chunk of the ballgame unless it gets too out of hand. Football’s great, but golly do I love baseball.
